Blush Pink and Red Gown

I've just finished a new gown, just in time for the Bride's Diary Wedding Fair this weekend. I can't wait to see it sparkling and moving on the catwalk. I bought the red flower lace a few months ago, but it's taken me a while to decide what to do with it. I was originally going to put it over red organza, but I'm so glad I went for the blush pink instead. It's a fully corseted gown made of blush pink silk satin and tulle. The bodice is decorated with red sequin flower appliques and Swarovski crystals. The matching fascinator is made of hand dyed blush pink feathers and the same sequin red flowers that are on the dress and there is also an ivory birdcage veil decorated with red Swarovski crystals. Silver Sequin and Tulle Gown and Dates for September

I've just finished another gown ready for the wedding show and catwalk show I'll be at this month. More about them at the end of this post. The photos don't do this gown justice. It's so sparkly in real life! It consists of a steel boned ivory silk satin corset which has been draped with silver sequin mesh and ivory tulle. The skirt is silver sequin fabric with a gathered ivory tulle overlay. The waist and shoulder are decorated with jewelled rhinestone pieces and Swarovski crystals. I'm going to be at lots of shows, markets and events over the next month or so - 

Sunday 16th September - Bride's Diary Expo at the Convention Centre in Canberra.

Saturday 22nd September - I'll be doing a fashion show at the High Tea in the Capital charity event for Habitat for Humanity. Unfortunately this is already sold out. 'Like' my Facebook page to see lots of photos from the day. 

Sunday 23rd September - Burlesque Bazaar. This will be the first Bazaar at the new venue - The Belconnen Magpies Club.

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September - Handmade Market. I'll be there both days in my usual space. Floriade is on too, so it'll be a great time to visit Canberra. Let's hope the sun shines.

Pink Ombre/ Dip Dyed Gown

I've finally finished the pink ombre wedding dress, just in time for a photoshoot tomorrow. The corset is made of ivory silk satin, overlayed with gathered ivory tulle and finished with ivory lace. The fishtail skirt is also ivory silk satin with gathered tulle and the hem has been dip dyed pink. It's finished with handmade silk roses and ivory lace.

Teaser Picture - Pink Ombre Wedding Dress

Here's a little preview of a new bridal gown that I'm working on with a pink ombre/ dip dye skirt. I've still got a lot of work to do on the corset and lots of silk roses to make to go on the skirt and a fascinator, but I'm completely in love with it already, so I had to share! Keep an eye on my Facebook page for pictures of the finished gown in the next week or two.

Mini Pill Box Bridal Fascinator

I've just finished this vintage wedding inspired mini pill box fascinator. It was my first attempt at hand blocking the base and I'm really please with how it came out. I wanted the piece to look like it was old, like it had been found hidden away in an attic, so I hand dyed the lace, feathers and the silk satin for the bow to give them a vintage blush pink colour. I hand beaded the lace with Swarovski crystals and glass beads. A birdcage veil finished the look. I can also make this piece to order in other colours.

1950s Inspired Red and White Wedding Dress

I've just finished this gown ready to take to the Bride's Diary Wedding Fair this Sunday. It was inspired by the 50s and by gorgeous ballet costumes. I wanted to keep it really soft and feminine but with a splash of dramatic colour.

The corset is ivory satin with an overlay of white beaded Alencon lace. The sash is red organza, decorated with a handmade red silk rose and organza petals. The skirt is layers and layers of ivory tulle and is worn over a fluffy red petticoat. I've styled it with a huge red handmade tulle and organza flower fascinator, an ivory birdcage veil and bright red shoes with flower shoe clips. I can't wait to photograph this gown on a model.
